Project details

Culture and creativity are essential for healthy, thriving communities. The Inner West is a cultural production hotspot, celebrated for its dynamic and diverse creative sector. Local creatives and culture have been hard hit by COVID19. Council needs a plan for how to keep culture at the heart of our community well into the future.

We’ve combined independent research, sector conversations and community insights with international best practice to prepare the draft Creative Inner West Cultural Strategy 2021-25 and Action Plan.

Inner West has a strong history of supporting and nurturing the arts through funding, programs and creative spaces. Creative Inner West Cultural Strategy 2021-25 will continue this work through five priority areas:

  1. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures at the centre
  2. Diversity enriches us and makes us stronger
  3. Love Inner West, day and night
  4. Culture’s role in our growing places
  5. Imagining our future together
