The upgrade - what's in

  • New playground for younger and older children
  • New youth zone with removable art walls and table tennis tables
  • Refurbishment of the existing basketball court
  • A new amenities building replacing the existing grandstand, containing two accessible public toilets, changing rooms, a kiosk, community function room and storage
  • New loop pathway and upgrade of all existing pathways and lighting
  • New sportsfield picket fence
  • New tree and garden planting

Sustainable Design

Council is committed to the principles of sustainable design. These resource saving measures are included in the upgrade plans:

• A 15,000 litre rainwater tank will be used for toilet flushing in the new amenities building. It’s estimated this will save around 200,000L of drinking water per year

• Low energy LED lighting with light level sensors in the new amenities building will only turn on when required

• A minimum of 95% of timber used in construction will be Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) Certified

• Demolished materials will be reused or recycled as much as possible

What else is happening in Camperdown?

The Camperdown Project revitalisation project is now complete and Camperdown Commons has opened.
