Project updates

Project details

At its meeting of 11 December, 2018 Council endorsed the preparation and exhibition of amended development control plan (DCP) provisions for the Balmain Leagues Club Precinct (C1218(1) Item 15).

The draft amendments follow the submission of a masterplan, proposed DCP and supporting documentation on behalf of the landowner. This documentation was subsequently peer reviewed by Council-appointed consultants, and revised amendments prepared. It is the Council prepared amendments to Part D of DCP 2000 that are the subject of this public exhibition.

This engagement is not related to the development application (DA) for the site (D/2018/219) which was exhibited in June 2018. The assessment of the DA is on hold until the draft DCP amendments are resolved.

The draft amendments to Part D of Leichhardt Development Control Plan 2000 (DCP 2000) include:

  • Rearrangement of the built form, building setbacks and access
  • Relocation of the future town square to the centre of the site
  • Updated controls related to environmental and waste management, and design excellence
