Reducing traffic speed and improving safety in Ruby Street, Marrickville

This engagement has now closed. Thank you for your feedback.

Council is proposing to construct a speed reducing hump in front of 28 - 30 Ruby Street to slow traffic and improve safety. This is a result of a traffic study in the area which identified speed as an issue in this street. The works will include constructing an asphalt hump, installing required signs and marking lines.

Because of concerns about pedestrian safety, Council is also proposing to remove the tree in front of 28 – 30 Ruby Street. To enhance the appearance of the street, the proposal includes replacing the removed tree, landscaping the area around the tree, and planting a new tree in front of 32 Ruby Street.

Existing on street parking will not be affected by the proposed works.

The plan of the proposed works can be viewed here.
