Partial road closure- Yeend Street– Birchgrove

Council is proposing to close a small section of road at the rear of 16 Ballast Point Road, Birchgrove.

This change aims to adjust the rear boundary to meet at the rock outcrop rear of 14 and 14 B Ballast Point Road so it appears as a continuous boundary line.

This partial road closure will have no impact on current footpath or vehicle access on Yeend Street.

Why is Council partially closing the road?

When formally closed, this section of public road will become a lot in a registered deposited plan in Council’s name. This parcel of land can then be sold by Council.

If this parcel of land is sold, it is intended to sell it to the owners of 16 Ballast Point Road for market value taking into account the amount by which it increases the value of their property, plus GST and reimbursements of costs and expenses.
